Riders participating in the amateur classes of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championship may reserve a race number in their classes if they meet the following eligibility requirements below. Riders unable to meet the requirements may use the number of their choice, so long as that number is not reserved and is available at the event. Riders may be required to change to another number at the event if the number is reserved or is already being used by another competitor.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Beginning January 2, 2012: Riders who finished in the TOP 10 of their class in the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championship and had the minimum number of required races (4 events), will be able to reserve a number in that class. The number may either be the number they earned or a number outside the Top 10. This does not apply to riders who must advance or change to another class based on age, ability, machine displacement or choice.

Beginning January 9, 2012: Riders who participated in at least four (4) events in the 2011 national series in the same class, may then request a number. The number cannot be a Top 10 number.

Beginning January 16, 2012: Riders who do not meet the above requirements for various reasons (i.e., injury) but who met the same requirements in the 2010 series, may submit a request citing the reasons why they did not meet the requirements and requesting a reserved number. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

After 4 rounds in 2012: Once riders have competed in 4 rounds in 2012, they may request a number.
