I know that folks at Racer Productions and MX Sports have been super busy in getting things ready for the new season. The off season has been a great time for riders and organizers to put their heads together and get some ideas to help promote ATV Motocross at the same time.
Jen Kenyon who began her duties as Media Manager for the series only a year ago has been busy with the staff working to elevate our media coverage for both racers and the series this year and one cool thing is our "Help Your Students Stay on the Right Track" program, which we hope to implement in as many local elementary schools as we can during the season. If you have recommendations for elementary schools within 30 miles of a race, feel free to send Jen info you media@atvmotocross.com and we'll contact them for an assembly visit.
We realize also that school will be out for the summer soon after the season begins so after round 4 we will be switching it up a bit so if you have any groups or organizations in you area when we come to town that could benefit from such an assembly feel free to let us know. As well if you would like to be apart of poster brigade when the race comes to your town to help promote feel free to let us know. If we all work together we may be able to start seeing even more race fans out at the track.
I was also talking with Dean the other day and he said that we will be needing some help as far as start card for Pro and Pro Am races and "trophy girls" (for the lack of a better term) to help out Saturday and Sunday. Get hold of Dean@ATVMotocross.com.
On the rider front of things there was some response to last weeks call out to find out what's up with you in the ATV Racin' Nation. Believe it or not there are not nearly as many proud moms and pops as I thought there would be. Or maybe nobody reads this article and I could just be pounding letters out on the keyboard and it doesn't really matter what I say. Like the great Pink Floyd once said, "Is there anybody out there?"
I did some great news from The Ohio Crew and it sounds like things are going great for that bunch of riders that have banned together to make a big presence at the races. Here is what they wrote:
The "Ohio Crew" is busy at work with signing lots of new sponsors, new shirts, and even a website. Several new riders have been added this year so the team consists of Larry Miner (running B class) Tyler Hamrick (pro am production and unlimited) Rachel Dickson(womens), Maci Devenport, Joey Wimsatt (running a), Ries Parvin(running b). New this year is Tanner Stutzman running C class and Corey Powers. Scottie Vechrey is back on the national circuit after taking last year off due to an injury (running 2 A classes and College boy the same that Tyler Hamrick ran lasy year.) We are looking forward to sweeping some more national championships after having 6 last year. And everyone finished top 5 last year.
And then I also got a note from Chad Sizemore who had some great news as he will be making his return to the nationals:
Hey Rodney, first things first I look forward to reading your article every week on site lap. I'm Chad Sizemore I sent ya an email a few weeks ago about the pro am production class and making my return to atv Mx racing, I have been training with former ATVpro Tommy Rich, cause I know Cody Gibson is back and I have to be in the beat shape to give Cody a run for the championship, as well as practicing at Earlywine Racing since I'm fortunate to live a few hours away from there. I hope you have another article about the pro am racers for this season, I will be riding for Yoshimura, and DWT on a Honda 450R. I'll see ya in Aonia Pass. Braaaap!
Braaaap! That's cool to read and it looks like that maybe somebody does read this article.
Anyway, I am driving with my family through central Ohio right now and it is snowing. I know that folks frown on texting and driving, I can only imagine if they knew I was writing this article on my Droid and driving.
Check in here if you want to see what Josh Upperman and the boys have been doing.
Send those emails about what you have going on to Rodney@atvmotocross.com.
Till next time, God Bless Your Hearts and All Your Vital Organs.
