Heading into the finale of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship by DWT one has to look back on this season and say it has definitely been one of historical proportions.  A year ago Moto Works Can-Am's Chad Weinen put an explanation to the end of the season and staking claims as the rider with the momentum heading into the off season.  This weekend Chad Weinen will be watching from the sidelines wondering the question that will plague him for a lifetime.  What if...?

#13 John Natalie's win at Red Bud put him one step close to his 2nd AMA ATV MX Championship.
No one truly knows the answer to that question however the statement that 2005 Champ and Moto Works Can-Am rider John Natalie made as the season began in Georgia at round one was that he was racing this year as it if it was his championship and if anyone wanted to take it away they would have a fight on their hands.  Amazingly with 2 motos to go Natalie was more right than even he possibly imagined.  With 10 points separating him and Baldwin Motorsports' Josh Upperman this championship should literally go right down to the final checker.

There are several other championships and top ten positions that will go right down to the wire and for sure all eyes will be watching the pro-am classes as riders jockey for final championship point standings.  Can Mark Madl play the spoiler in both those classes and set the Blue Rok Racing on course for future successes.

After the throw away races in the Pro-Am Unlimited class Madl sits within a few points of JB Racing's Jeffrey Rastrelli.  The two championship competitors both hail from the Sunshine state of Florida and have been good friends for a long time.  Both riders really seem to be as happy for the others successes as they are their own.  Each rider stated that if they end up losing the championship to the other that it will make it easier knowing who beat them and that they will be happy for the other.

In the Pro-Am Production Class the championship comes down to this final round as well.  Mark Madl again is in the mix of things and with only one throw out race in this division Madl sits only a handful of points behind Moto-Xperts Casey Martin.  Martin has ridden a strong and impressive season but no one can deny the remarkable come from behind racing that Mark Madl has pulled off this season.  This is another can't wait till the final moto classes to see how it all finally pans out.

#16 Walsh Race-Craft's Jeremy Lawson was fastest qualifier at Red Bud before literally knocking himself out of the championship. Look for Lawson to make a statement at Dirt Days.
As we head into the weekend there have a number of racing families making their way here to Loretta Lynn's enjoying everything the ranch has to offer.  There are tours of the Loretta Lynn Mansion, Replica Butcher Holler Home, Replica Coal Mine and 18,000 square feet Coal Miner's Daughter Museum.  These are all a must see for you and your family.

The weekend kicked off last night with the Youth Contingency Program sponsored RC Car race, Kid Carnival and a movie night by the Coconut Joe's Shiver Shack.  This is a great place to cool down this weekend grab a cold shaved ice or smoothie.

Thursday night will feature a Scavenger Hunt and Mini Family style Olympics with Wheel Barrow racing, 3 legged racing and potato sack racing.  It for sure should be a good time for everyone if you are going to be around.  Coconut Joe's will also feature Karaoke and more on the deck next to the food court on vendor row.

Friday night will feature the annual golf cart parade with prizes to the best golf cart.  The parade will end in the pavilion where the Youth Contingency Program will get underway with handing out prizes to every youth racer that shows up for this event.  There will be remote control cars, hard parts, accessories, gift certificates and the grand prize of a Kymco 90cc Mongoose ATV.  Be sure not to miss this.  Remember you must be present to win these prizes.

Saturday night it looks like remote control races again leading up to the 88 Live to Ride Foundation auction.  There is a host of great product you can get your hands on including a Moto Works Can-Am with a starting bid of $4,900.00.  What a deal!

#84 Thomas Brown is getting closer to his first ever win and with support from mechanic Paul Turner and Team Manager Bill Ballance he could soon to be the force to reckon with.
Seth Farger the DWT/MotoWorks rep has been working on some video that he has taking and put a few recaps of a few rounds together.  You can check it out by clicking here.  Also don't forget to join Seth for Chapel Services on Sunday Morning.  Be listening for location.

Remember to tune into 88.7 on your radio to keep up to date on all things for this weekend.  Also pit vehicle passes must be displayed if you intend to run pit vehicles.  Some vehicles and drives may not be eligible for pit passes.  Any questions, just ask the nice ladies where you pick up the passes and they will let you know what you need to know.

That should be enough to keep us busy this weekend.  Remember to be respectful of the campground and others.   Please by all means monitor your children and their pit riding.

Till next time; God Bless Your Heart and All Your Vital Organs.
