ATVMX Pro Am Production Race Report: Millville
Casey Martin extends his lead in Minnesota

Millville, Minn. (June 6, 2011) - Sunday's Pro Am Production class provided excitement for the fans at the seventh round of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship Series presented by DWT.  Sunny skies and warm temperatures made for a great day of racing at Spring Creek MX in Millville, Minn., as the top Pro Am riders in the country continue to battle for the ATVMX championship.

Madl, Martin, Rastrelli on the podium
Florida's Jeff Rastrelli grabbed the moto one holeshot just ahead of Illinois rider Ronnie Higgerson and Michigan's Kyle Fix, with points leader Casey Martin close behind.  Martin kept the pressure on Fix, taking the outside line in a split corner to get past the #74 KTM.  The next lap, Mark Madl slipped his Suzuki past Fix in similar fashion, pushing the Michigan rider back to fourth.

Heading into the final corner of moto one, Rastrelli, Martin and Madl were once again in a freight train formation, setting up for an exciting moto end.  Martin went in for the pass on Rastrelli, but couldn't make it stick.  Rastrelli brake-checked Martin, keeping himself in the lead as they crossed the finish line. Martin finished second behind Rastrelli and Madl came in a close third.  Kyle Fix finished fourth in front of Higgerson, who rounded out the top five.

Rastrelli won the first moto, taking third OA
Casey Martin shot out of the gate for the moto two holeshot with Rastrelli and Meyer close behind.  Aaron Meyer put his Honda into second right away, setting sights on the leader Martin ahead.  Rastrelli seemed to tire as the moto went on, losing a position to Mark Madl who came charging through the pack from a sixth place start.

Taking the outside line through the whoops, Madl eventually caught and passed Meyer on the final lap, pushing the Ohio rider back to third.  Meanwhile, Martin was riding his own race out front with no pressure from the second place of Madl.  Martin showed no signs of fatigue as he rode a strong race from beginning to end on the rough Millville track.

Martin rode on to take the moto two win and the overall for the day with a 2-1.  Madl took second in moto two and captured second overall in front of Rastrelli, who went 1-4 for third overall.  After bad luck in moto one, Aaron Meyer went 8-3 for fourth overall and Jesse Barnes rouned out the top five with 6-5.
