Pro Am Production Class Heats up in Round Four at Budds Creek

Mechanicsville, Md. (April 18, 2011) - Sunday's Pro Am Production class showcased one for the history books as the top riders provided great racing action at the fourth round of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship Series presented by DWT.  Although the Motoworks Budds Creek event began with muddy conditions on Saturday, the track was in great shape for Sunday's Pro Am schedule.

Rastrelli, Martin, Madl on the podium
Kentucky's Casey Martin grabbed the moto one holeshot aboard his Honda, followed by Florida riders Jeff Rastrelli and Mark Madl close behind.  Rastrelli kept Martin's pace for the first couple of laps until he faded back a bit, allowing Madl to get by for the second spot.  Madl mounted a hard charge mid-moto and challenged Martin for the lead on the last couple of laps.  Finishing only 0.724 of a second behind the leader, Madl gave it everything he had at the end of the moto to get by Martin.  Rastrelli hung on for the third spot, followed by Aaron Meyer and Kyle Fix to round out the top five.

The excitement from moto one carried over into moto two, as the bar-to-bar racing action heightened into what has been some of the best ATV racing of the season.  Martin captured the holeshot once again, with Rastrelli and Madl on his tail.  Halfway through the first lap, Rastrelli made the pass around Martin for the lead. Martin held second until lap four when Madl slipped by, only to fall back once again as Martin got him back in time to secure the second place position.  Rastrelli took the moto two win with Martin and Madl only a tenth of a second away in second and third.
