At the beginning of the 2007 ITP MOOSE RACING ATVA NATIONAL MX SERIES there was a meeting for pro riders explaining the process of AMA PRO ATV trying to mirror other forms of AMA PRO RACING and staying as consistent with them as possible. A way of doing so was taking advantage of timed scoring and allowing racers to compete for gate choice by their best lap time in Sunday practice rather than drawing for position. Because of this all riders must use the same ATV that they will use in the main program since it is considered qualifying. For safety reasons seeded riders must still attempt to practice in this session since they have not yet seen the racing surface that day.
